PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

LOCTITE R Big Foot O Vehicular Grade is a two component anti-slip epoxy coating. Designed to withstand heavy vehicular traffic under typical dry service temperatures of ¡V29¢X to +60¢XC (¡V20¢X to +140¢XF). It is both easy and fast to apply and offers optimum adhesion to concrete, metal and wood surfaces.

Advantages:

•  Reduces slips and falls in the workplace
•  Fire retardant in the cured state
•  Superior adhesion ¡V forms a solid bond to steel, cast iron, stainless steel, concrete, wood, and clean and abraded bronze, copper and aluminum
•  Resists acids, alkalis, solvents, grease, oil, salt water, detergents, alcohol, gasoline, jet fuels and hydraulic fluids
•  Easy to apply with a roller or trowel in one step

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Anti-slip finish for concrete and steel ramps, walkways, locker rooms, loading docks, marine applications, machine rooms, assembly areas, and stairs where an extremely durable anti-slip coating is required.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation:

Big Foot Vehicular Grade can be applied to any clean, dry surface. Recommended methods of cleaning are as follows:

Concrete:

Remove all paint films and unbonded particles, preferably by sandblasting. Remove oil, grease, dirt, wax, or other contaminants by dissolving with a water-based cleaner/ degreaser. Then flush thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. Smooth or glazed surfaces should be roughened. New concrete should cure for at least 30 days prior to coating. Prime prepared surface with Big Foot Waterbased Primer/ Sealer Product No. 94142 then coat with Vehicular Grade.

Metal:

Remove all paint, rust and mill scale, preferably by sandblasting. Remove all oil, grease, dirt, wax or other contaminants by dissolving with a water-based cleaner/ degreaser. Then flush thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. Prime prepared surface with Big Foot Metal Primer Product No. 96132 then coat with Vehicular Grade.

Mixing:

1.

Pre-mix base component mechanically using a JiffyR mixing blade, Product No. 96131. Make sure all settlement is lifted off the bottom of the container and the material assumes a uniform appearance.

2.

Pour entire contents of hardener can into base container. Thoroughly mix (using same mixer blade), scraping material from the sides and bottom of the can for approximately 3-5 minutes, until hardener is uniformly dispersed throughout material.

 Data Ranges

The data contained herein may be reported as a typical value and/or range. Values are based on actual test data and are verified on a periodic basis.

Application:
Big Foot Vehicular Grade can be applied at surface temperatures between 10¢XC to 54¢XC (50¢XF to 130¢XF). Application is not recommended when surface temperature is above or below these temperatures. Big Foot Vehicular Grade can be applied by roller or trowel.

Roller:

Provides superior anti-slip characteristics with an irregular, ridged profile.

1.

Use a phenolic roller, Product No. 96121. It is important that the rolled profile expose the maximum amount of anti-slip aggregate. If aggregate is not properly exposed, the coating may become slippery when wet.

2.

Pour a ¡§ribbon¡¨ of material on the surface approximately 2' x 6¡¨ (60 cm x 15 cm). Roll material toward you with a moderate amount of pressure. Do not over-roll too many times or press down too heavily. Be careful that material does not build up too thickly along welds (roll across welds not along them). Material applied too thickly may not properly cure.

3.

Higher temperatures will shorten drying time and conversely, lower temperatures and high relative humidity will lengthen drying time. Exterior applications must be protected from rain for at least 12 to 24 hours after application. Protect from heavy or extended exposure to water, oil and chemicals for 5 to 7 days during final cure.

Trowel:

Provides excellent anti-slip characteristics with a rough, textured surface.

1.

Use a flexible bladed plasterer's finishing trowel approximately 4¡¨ x 12¡¨ (10 cm x 30 cm). Use smooth edges not notched.

2.

  Pour a ¡§ribbon¡¨ of material on the surface approximately 2' x 6¡¨ (60 cm x 15 cm).

3.

Hold trowel at 45¢X angle to surface and spread with sweeping motion. Reverse angle of trowel for opposite stroke. Pull material toward you. To cover corners, pull straight strokes using material on the trowel. Trowel across welds to avoid too thick an application.

Surface Maintenance:

Maintain a clean surface to ensure that the anti-slip safety performance is maximized. We recommend the following cleaning procedure.

1.

Apply an all-purpose, biodegradable cleaner/degreaser.

2.

Scrub surface with a long-handled, fiber bristled brush or floor machine

3.

Rinse with clean water and dry. Foreign matter such as chewing gum should be removed with a scraper or putty knife and then the surface should be cleaned following above procedure.

4.

Although this non-slip coating is extremely durable, it is not permanent and will require occasional touch-up, especially in high traffic areas. This material can be re-applied over itself. To re-apply, follow instructions above for surface preparation, mixing and application.
